Adore

I am sitting here on this Valentine's day studying for a test and listening to the Soundtrack to the movie Sheffey put out by Bob Jone University. One of the Songs is an adaptation of Brethren We Have Met to Worship. In the words of the song it states that we (as brethren in Christ) have met together to Adore the Lord our God. Today is the commercially agreed upon day to show love, whether purely superficially in order to satisfy lust or to truly show love (self-sacrificing). In terms of love we often use the word "Adore" to speak of our devotion and our attributing worth to someone. I can say I "Adore" my wife and though there are times that it is not as well evidenced I can truly say that I place her on the so called "pedastool" and devotedly attribute worth to her. But the question stemming from the song on this proclaimed day of "love" is when was the last time you did such a thing, devotedly attributing worth to God? Can your worship either corporate or personal be described as Adoring God or is it dead, or maybe it is superficial to satisfy your "I am all right" meter? When have you last Adored God. The challenge take some time away from every one and everything else and get alone with God through prayer and reading His word. Just as it takes time to "Adore" the special someone and have a relationship with them so to does it take time to do the same with God.

So what happens when i finally get a couple days and nights of rest? The answer, natural body wake up @ about 0430. The only frustrating part I could sleep till 0700 today. The great thing is being awake so early afford me some good prayer time.

Note to Self

Today I went about doing some re-organizing and cleaning. You would think I would have learned my lesson in the previous attempts; such an undertaking always takes longer than anticipated. In fact right now my efforts are about half complete. So the question is should I be less optimistic about the length of time it takes to clean and organize or just not clean?

What is the verdict? Stay tuned and find out.

What this is all about

You may be browsing around the ether of the web and stumbled in the darkness into my little corner. At first glance you look at the title and wonder what this is all about. Well, the title grew out of its meaning. First, codex as in book or collected writings. This little corner of mine is where I impose upon the ether as I practice writing to increase my skill. Secondly, renaissance was a period of wide advances in many fields. A renaissance man is one who has ability and knowledge in a broad spectrum of disciplines. I am no where near the true definition of renaissance man but I do have wide and varied interests across multiple disciplines of which I will be writing about here. So, if you enjoy various topics and don't mind some reading an imperfect writer stick around and see what comes out of my keyboard.
